The fountains in front of the Austell Threadmill Mall Complex, 5000 Austell Powder Springs Road SW, will be lit at night.

The Austell City Council voted Oct. 1 to spend $173,200 to completely replumb the fountain and install four LED lights in each of the three fountains along with stacked stone.

Also, the City Council decided to buy seven vehicles - five fleet trucks for $132,231 for the Public Works Department and $26,827 for a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado for the Parks Department along with a $9,000 box truck.

The five older fleet trucks will be surplused, said Public Works Director Bo Garrison.

Caleb’s Way will be resurfaced and receive sidewalks for $67,920 by PKS Paving as the low bidder.

Funding for all of these projects will come from the 2016 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.
