The man accused of shooting his attorney wife eight times outside of the couple's Sandy Springs apartment was denied bond a hearing Tuesday.

Michael Parson was arrested in Texas two weeks after the April 20 shooting that critically injured his wife, Adina Parson, according to police. He was returned to Georgia over the weekend.

In the days following the shooting, friends and family members have said Michael Parson was among those at Grady Memorial Hospital, where doctors initially gave his wife a slim chance of survival.

But later, Michael Parson emerged as a suspect, Sandy Springs police have said. He was tracked to Texas, where he had been jailed since his arrest.

On Saturday, Michael Parson was extradited to Georgia and booked into Fulton County jail, booking records show. He faces charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, making false statements, possession a firearm while committing a felony and marijuana possession.

After spending 19 days in critical condition at Grady, 40-year-old Adina Parson was transferred earlier this month to the Shepherd Center, where she is continuing her recovery.

Doctors have said the woman, an attorney for the state Department of Public Health, has made remarkable improvement despite being shot three times in the head.

Police have not released information regarding a possible motive in the shooting.
