Your ability to buy emoji joggers in metro Atlanta has been affected.

In a move sure to affect back-to-school shopping traditions, a pair of area Rue21 stores are among the 400 locations nationwide set to close.

The Pittsburgh-based clothing store geared toward teens confirmed the closures Monday on its Facebook.

The company describes itself online like so: "We're young, fun and fresh. We're energetic and playful. We believe in changing things up while staying true to yourself."

Forbes listed Rue21 at No. 9 in its 2012 ranking of "America's Best Small Companies."

According to Rue21's website, the two metro Atlanta locations closing are at North Point Mall, 1000 North Point Circle in Alpharetta, and Lakeside Marketplace, 3384 North Cobb Parkway in Acworth.

An employee at the Acworth store who declined to give her name Monday confirmed the closure but was unsure of a final day.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
