Atlantic Station has become the latest community to buy a high-definition public safety surveillance system.

The 138-acre complex in Atlanta includes 15 million square feet of commercial space and 5,000 residential properties. With a surveillance system from Iron Sky, police can monitor shoppers and residents with map-based software and HD video images.

Officers can access footage from 50 cameras around Midtown Atlanta. The project integrates existing and third-party surveillance cameras, as well as license-plate recognition and map-based officer tracking.
