Metro Atlanta saw some showers and thunderstorms Tuesday and likely will see more Wednesday.

It is expected to rain overnight and through the morning, Channel 2 Action News chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

"There will be rain during the morning commute," he said, urging drivers to use caution.

Wednesday has a 60 percent chance of rain, with highs in the mid-70s and lows in the upper 50s.

Thursday and Friday look clear and dry, with highs remaining in the mid-70s and lows in the high 50s.

Rain may return this weekend. There's a 40 percent chance of showers Saturday and a 60 percent chance Sunday. Highs are expected to be in the low- to mid-70s, and lows, in the upper 50s.

Some of Tuesday's pop-up storms included hail, Burns said.

Lightning caused a house fire in Holly Springs, Cherokee fire authorities told Channel 2. No injuries were reported.
