The rain that has soaked metro Atlanta since Sunday looks set to continue Tuesday.

"It's beneficial rain, but rain nonetheless," Channel 2 Action News meteorologist David Chandley said.

Rainfall totals through Monday morning included 1.19 inches near Mableton, 1.03 inches in Chamblee, .83 inch in Alpharetta and .97 inch at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, cutting the city's official rain deficit for the year to 3.99 inches.

Chandley predicted a 70 percent chance of rain Tuesday and highs in the mid-80s.

Wednesday through Friday should be dry, Chandley said, with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Lows this week will be in the mid 60s.
