The City of Atlanta will open an emergency warming center in anticipation of frigid temperatures.
The Old Adamsville Recreation Center will open at 6 p.m. The center is located at 3404 Delmar Lane in northwest Atlanta.
Transportation will be provided beginning at 6pm from Gateway Center on 275 Pryor Street. Men, women and children are welcome.
Just before lunchtime Friday, Atlanta's temperature was in the upper 40s and that's the warmest it will be all day, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said. Temperatures are expected to feel like the 30s in the afternoon once the front moves out.
