Atlanta police arrested two people in connection with a Johns Creek home invasion where two women were pistol-whipped and hit in the head.
Police followed a white Mercedes believed to be a part of the home invasion to the 2900 block of Springdale Road in southwest Atlanta, police spokesman Officer Lukasz Sajdak said.
The alleged attackers were taken into custody and will be released to Johns Creek police, he said. Their names have not been released and charges are pending.
The two women attacked, a resident and a caregiver, were held at gunpoint for about 45 minutes Tuesday in a home along Chelsen Wood Drive, Channel 2 reported.
“(They were) asking for money, asking where the safe was and things like that," Johns Creek police Capt. Chris Byers said. "At some point during the altercation, the two females were hit by the assailants. They were struck in the head with their weapons."
The home may have been targeted, Channel 2 reported. The women do not have life-threatening injuries.

Police are not sure if the home invasion is connected to another one in Smyrna. In that incident, two people were tied and beaten inside a home on Vinings Oak Drive.
