Atlanta Public Schools educator Diane Buckner-Webb of Dunbar Elementary, notified the district she plans to resign rather than challenge plans to fire her. Buckner-Webb was accused in a state investigation of erasing and correcting answers on state exams. About 180 educators were accused of cheating; about 100 have resigned, retired or been fired. In April, Buckner-Webb was notified of the school district's intention to fire her. A hearing was scheduled for Thursday to decide her case. She could not be reached for comment.
