Atlanta Public Schools' Randolph Bynum is among three finalists vying to become superintendent of schools in Sumter County, S.C. A decision about the job is expected by the end of April, according to The (Sumter) Item, a local newspaper.

Bynum came to Atlanta in 2008 and is the city's associate superintendent for high schools. In his application for the Sumter job, Bynum said he had an interest in "seeking new challenges of a district superintendency." Atlanta is also looking for a new leader, after longtime Superintendent Beverly Hall announced she will step down June 30. Its search, still in early stages, is expected to conclude in late June.
