Anti-Trump protests held in Atlanta

Anti-fascism protesters planned demonstrations nationwide.

Dozens of people marched in protest of President Donald Trump and his administration Saturday evening in Little Five Points, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The group said it is against fascism and the protest was part of several planned demonstrations across the nation.

“I’m very against and very afraid that our country is turning to a fascist society,” protester Susan Riea told the news station.

Officers monitored demonstrators from Euclid and Moreland streets and barricades kept a few counter protesters on the opposite side of the intersection.

No arrests were made, but officers had zip-ties ready in case things got heated.

Some Trump supporters said the turnout was a letdown.

“There’s supposed to a lot more of them and there’s not,” Joe Davis said.

Protesters said the issues are too important to stay silent.

“I was active in the '60s and I’m not going to let it go now,” Riea said.
