The Alpharetta Police Department and the FBI are asking for the public’s help with capturing an attempted bank robbery suspect.

A bank teller told investigators a black male entered the Wells Fargo branch at 5750 North Point Parkway around 11:50 a.m. on Oct. 3. The suspect had his head and face covered with a white T-shirt, and walked to the teller's station saying "give me all hundreds," while pulling from a black handgun from his hip, police said.

The suspect was unable to hold the weapon and keep the shirt covering his face, authorities said. He eventually got scared and fled the bank without the money. Other bank employees were able to set off the panic alarm once the suspect entered the premises.

Multiple police and K-9 units searched the area but were unable to find the suspect, who witnesses told police was last seen fleeing across the bank's parking lot.

Surveillance photos released by the Alpharetta Police Department on Wednesday show the suspect wearing a light-blue, short-sleeved shirt with a black long-sleeved shirt underneath, and blue jeans.

Residents can call 678-297-6307 to provide authorities confidential tips, or click the “Submit a Crime Tip” link on the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety Facebook page.

Police are asking for the public's help in catching the suspect at large.
