The Alpharetta City Council is scheduled to vote Tuesday night on whether to purchase 25 more Tasers for the city police department.

The council approved the purchase of 110 Tasers last December. Since then the police department has added 15 reserve officers and decided it needed 10 spare Tasers.

The 25 devices would cost $31,902 and be paid for with drug seizure money.

The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. in Alpharetta City Hall. The meeting will be followed by a work session at which the council will discuss the city’s economic development plan.
