Five adults and five children were not harmed in the Tuesday afternoon fire that destroyed their Gwinnett County home, officials said.

Firefighters responded to the single-story home on the 2600 block of Lawrenceville's Five Forks Trickum Road around 4:10 p.m., finding flames erupting from the attic. It took about an hour to bring the blaze under control, fire department spokesman Capt. Tommy Rutledge said in a news release.

The home was a total loss, Rutledge said. The Red Cross was contacted to assist the 10 residents.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation, Rutledge said.
