Students, who will be in the sixth through ninth grades for the 2020-21 academic year, are invited to apply for the new Acworth Police Ambassador Camp.

This summer camp is designed for students who are interested in becoming police officers.

The Acworth Police Department will host its first Police Ambassador Camp (P.A.C.) June 22-26 at the Acworth Police Department, 4440 Acworth Industrial Drive, Acworth.

The cost is $75 for each participant.

The summer camp program will provide “a lot of fun, team-building challenges, a fun field trip, team sports - all while being coached by police officers,” according to Acworth Police Cpl. Youlanda D. McIntosh.

“The purpose of the Police Ambassador Camp is to foster relationships that will bridge the gaps between law enforcement and youth in the community while exposing the students to the possibility of a career serving their community,” McIntosh said.

“The goal of the program is to motivate students to be outstanding citizens and to empower them to act as a positive influence in the community,” she added.
