Two men have been charged in connection with a homicide, a non-fatal shooting and robberies of multiple food businesses, police said.
While investigating the Oct. 9 shooting of a Marco’s Pizza manager, the Gwinnett County Police Department robbery unit connected 23-year-old Dametrius Marquel Sims and 20-year-old Oshay Quante Howard to several recent crimes, spokeswoman Michele Pihera said.
Sims was arrested Oct. 13 and charged in the robberies of the Marco’s Pizza on Five Forks Trickum Road, a Steak 'n Shake, a Golden Corral and delivery drivers for a Chinese food restaurant and a Papa John’s.
Sims also faces charges of aggravated assault, battery, possession of a firearm by a felon and use of a firearm in the commission of a crime in connection to the shooting of Quinn Harned of Conyers, the general manager of that Marco’s Pizza.
Howard, who was allegedly involved in the Marco’s Pizza and Golden Corral robberies, was charged with aggravated battery in connection to the shooting death of 19-year-old Domiquo Riley of Snellville.
Police believe Riley was shot at the Midnight Blu Café on Jimmy Carter Boulevard near Lilburn and taken to a nearby Shell gas station, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.
Christopher Parker, 42, of Lithonia, was previously arrested and charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and felon in possession of a firearm in connection to Riley's death.
