Abernathy Road at Ga. 400 between Sandy Springs and Dunwoody is scheduled to be closed this weekend to accommodate bridge construction, the Georgia Department of Transportation announced.

Abernathy in the underpass beneath Ga. 400, one right lane of northbound Ga. 400 over Abernathy, and the ramp from northbound Ga. 400 to westbound Abernathy will be closed continuously from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, GDOT said.

Crews will be demolishing the northbound shoulder of Ga. 400, part of the ongoing reconstruction of the Ga. 400/I-285 interchange in the Perimeter area of North Fulton and DeKalb counties.

The recommended detour has motorists and pedestrians using Peachtree Dunwoody Road, Mount Vernon Highway and Mercedes Benz Drive/Barfield Road to bypass the Abernathy closure. Information: https://bit.ly/38DXZ5F
