A five-car accident on Ga. 400 closed both northbound lanes in Forsyth County, snarling Black Friday traffic, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The crash caused oil to spill from at least one of the cars involved, creating dangerous roadway conditions north of State Route 306, said an operator from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

Those involved suffered minor injuries, the sheriff’s office said.

All lanes were reopened around 2 p.m., but heavy congestion remained, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
