Months after Fulton County had to return millions of dollars for bungling a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the turnaround has been “miraculous,” a board member who oversees the grant program said.
Fulton County overhauled its grants system in response to the issues with the grant to educate about and diagnose HIV. The county was required to return millions of dollars after it remained unspent by the grant’s deadline. As part of the overhaul, Fulton has also taken the opportunity to seek more grants.
