Gwinnett’s transportation future: Your chance to speak out

March 14, 2016

Some Gwinnett County residents want MARTA. Others can't stand it. Some want bus rapid transit. Others just want a shorter drive.

Now Gwinnett is giving residents a chance to shape the county’s transportation plans for the next 25 years.

Beginning Tuesday, the county will host a series of public meetings on its new comprehensive transportation plan, which will shape Gwinnett’s priorities for the next generation. Residents will get a chance to talk about their own transportation needs and how the county can meet them.

The first meeting will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday (March 15) at the Bogan Park Community Recreation Center, 2723 North Bogan Road, Buford.

Another meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon Saturday (March 19) at the Shorty Howell Park Activity Building, 2750 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth.

Other meetings will come later this month.

In addition, residents can take an online transportation survey. To take the survey and for more information about Gwinnett’s transportation plan, visit www.destination2040gwinnett.com.
