A proposed sales tax that would raise hundreds of millions of dollars for road repaving, a government center, parks and other infrastructure in DeKalb County is in doubt.

The DeKalb Board of Commissioners couldn't agree Tuesday on what projects would be funded through the sales tax. Some want it to go entirely for roads and transportation, while others prefer allocating money for a consolidated government facility, a police and fire academy and various additional projects.

If the commission can't reach a consensus next month, the special purpose local option sales tax (SPLOST) proposal won't appear on November's ballot.
