Residents concerned about crime in the Stone Mountain area will meet Tuesday to talk about violence in their community and look for answers.

DeKalb County Commissioner Sharon Barnes Sutton called the meeting after an 18-year-old was killed and four people were wounded during a drug deal shooting Wednesday.

“This community is traumatized by seeing that type of violence out there,” Sutton said. “Perhaps we can form partnerships to tackle those problems of drugs and violence and gangs.”

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Victory Church at 1170 N. Hairston Road in Stone Mountain.
