On Monday, David and Anna Rau showed up at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection office at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. They weren't looking for entry into the United States. They were there hoping to provide food to anyone being detained under President Trump's seven-country ban.

It was the College Park couple’s small way of taking a stand - even if it was just to offer detained travelers a handful of oranges.

“We didn’t want to be people who stuck their heads in the sand during times of tension,” David Rau said, standing outside the customs office with his wife and 14-month-old son.

“We’re trying to fight our way beyond Facebook,” Anna Rau said.

“There’s a lot of division in the country right now,” David Rau said. “Ultimately I think Donald Trump wants to help the economy but he doesn’t realize the expense it’s going to cost citizens who are marginalized.”
