Whether you have stars in your eyes or you’re thinking in more practical terms about a career in the entertainment industry, no one’s going to tell you to “go west, young man (or woman)” these days. That’s because Hollywood is here.

This issue of EDU Atlanta focuses on how you can work toward a degree or certificate that will give you a leg up, whether you’re looking at the more technical side of the industry or your leanings are more artistic in nature. Georgia offers a thriving system of educational choices — read on to learn about it as well as people who are taking advantage of what’s out there. Who knows, the next Orson Welles or Kathryn Bigelow might well have a local zip code and a lovely southern drawl.
