Severe weather that affected areas north of Atlanta hadn’t reached Clayton County by mid-afternoon Wednesday, and all county schools were operating as usual, with no early closings planned.

The school district would issue an alert to parents if weather did prompt any early dismissals or other special circumstances, a spokeswoman said.
