Decatur City Schools officials say classes are canceled for the day after a water-main break in Doraville affected water supply across DeKalb County.

District officials initially delayed Wednesday’s school start-time to determine any lingering issues related to the water shortage.

The WSB 24-hour Traffic Center said a water main break caused flooding on Buford Highway in Doraville, just north of Interstate 285 in DeKalb County. Water had been flowing onto the highway since before 4:30 Wednesday morning. A boil-water advisory is in effect in the area surrounding the break.
