Feb 19, 2014Students, volunteers and educators learned about community service, conservation, food access, health and homelessness on Martin Luther King Day at Washington High, where King attended high school.
The group of more than 60 people also picked up trash in the area, and they created hygiene kits for the homeless and the elderly.
The school's culinary instructor taught volunteers about healthy recipes, and students participated in yoga instruction, according to Talk Up APS, Atlanta Public Schools' blog.
