Etienne Batiste, a Spelman College freshman, was awarded a $2,000 Delta Community-KISS 104 HBCU Scholarship to help fund her education at Spelman. A native of College Park, Etienne has been a member of Delta Community Credit Union since 2015. She was valedictorian of her class at The Campus school in Peachtree City, where she maintained a 4.4 GPA. Etienne, who plans to be a civil engineer, said, "I am pursuing an education that will support my goal to improve poor physical conditions which plague much of Atlanta." Delta Community CEO Hank Halter said, "Our HBCU scholarship program helps hard-working students like Etienne achieve their goals for a good education and rewarding career," "We're proud to invest in these students and the communities we serve."
