A Georgia Senate committee looking to improve how school districts discipline students will hold its final hearing Tuesday evening.

The meeting will begin at 6:45 p.m. in the auditorium of the Henry County school system’s headquarters, 33 N. Zack Hinton Parkway in McDonough.

The committee, led by Sen. Emanuel Jones, D-Decatur, was created in response to concerns about the high rate of student expulsions, punishments imposed by local school boards and time spent in alternative schools.
