Two DeKalb County schools are among the top 500 high schools nationally, according to U.S. News & World Report.
DeKalb School of the Arts, part of the DeKalb County School District, just missed the top 100 schools list at No. 102. Decatur High School, part of the City Schools of Decatur district, was No. 403.
According to the magazine, the criteria used to determine rankings included how schools fared in comparison with others in the same state, graduation rates and academic performance of the school’s black, Hispanic and low-income students.
At No. 27, the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology was the top-ranked school in Georgia.
The School for the Talented and Gifted in Dallas topped the list.
