The DeKalb County School District will hold six public meetings around the county this month to hear public feedback on the search for the next superintendent.

The first meeting is Feb. 3 at Dunwoody High School. All meetings are 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m. The others: Feb. 4 at Lakeside High, Feb. 5 at Stephenson High, Feb. 10 at Miller Grove High, Feb. 11 at Towers High and Feb. 12 at the school district central office at 1701 Mountain Industrial Blvd., Stone Mountain.

Superintendent Michael Thurmond’s contract expires in June, and PROACT Search has been hired to help the school board find a successor. Officials say community feedback will contribute to the development of a “profile that will drive recruiting for the next superintendent.”
