A health inspector found roaches in the kitchen of a DeKalb elementary school, according to a report released Tuesday.

Henderson Mill Elementary School in Atlanta received a score of 82 after both live and dead roaches were found in multiple places in the kitchen, according to a report.

Roaches were observed on a can opener blade holster, the cook line, clean utensil storage drawer and clean dishes storage, according to a health inspection report.

Henderson Mill Elementary previously scored a 93 on a health inspection report last December.

A statement from the DeKalb County School District called the report's findings "unacceptable" and said the Office of School Nutrition and the Operations Department will conduct a thorough review of procedures and retrain appropriate staff.

There have not been any reports of illness or health issues with students in that school, DeKalb County School District's communication director, Quinn Hudson, told the AJC.

Cleaning services and pest control will be at the school on Thursday, Hudson said.
