Atlanta Public Schools' revenue declined last year, but not as much as the school system cut spending, according to its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for 2013.

The result is an increase of about $31 million in the school system’s net position, an indicator of financial improvement based on the difference between assets and liabilities.

The report said APS’ total revenue in the 2013 fiscal year amounted to $768.5 million, and its total expenses were $737.5 million.
