Officials charged with finding candidates to replace outgoing DeKalb County School District Superintendent Steve Green will hear from the school district community as they continue seeking the district's next leader.

Meetings will take place Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Chamblee Charter High School, Tucker High School and Lithonia High School and Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Clarkston High School, Miller Grove High School and Cedar Grove High School.

Illinois firm BWP & Associates, hired officially in September to handle the search, hopes to give the DeKalb County Board of Education a list of candidates by January. The community meetings are part of a four-step selection process the search firm laid out to board members during their monthly meeting earlier this month.

An online survey, launched Monday, also is being used.

Green announced in May that he would not lead the district after the current school year.
