Peachtree Charter Middle School parents will vote again on whether to renew the school’s charter, parent Tim O’Connor said Wednesday.

A previous vote is currently under investigation by the DeKalb County School District after alleged improprieties in the process. Among other things, O’Connor complained that the votes were not always secure, giving proponents a chance to fix the vote in their favor.

The vote on Feb. 5 will be the third time parents vote on the renewal. The first vote from last summer was thrown out for lack of participation. O’Connor said the renewal was denied then. School officials then said otherwise.

Charters renewals are typically handed out in 5-year increments.
