Two-time Olympic medalist and bobsledder Elana Meyers-Taylor will deliver the keynote address at DeVry University’s commencement ceremony on July 20.

Meyers-Taylor is expected to speak about the importance of perseverance and determination to the more than 500 expected graduates.

The Douglasville native earned a silver medal in the two-woman bobsled at the 2014 Winter Olympics, and a bronze medal in the same event in the 2010 Olympics Games. She is currently training with Team USA’s women’s rugby team in preparation for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Meyers-Taylor holds a master’s degree in sports management and a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from George Washington University, and is currently pursuing her MBA in finance at DeVry University’s Keller Graduate School of Management.

Commencement begins at 1 p.m. at the Arena at Gwinnett Center, 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth.
