Notre Dame Academy in Duluth is adding a freshman class in fall 2015 as the school begins an expansion of its campus to include high school grades.

The Catholic school bought 21 acres of land for the high school next to its existing elementary and middle school campus, and construction is scheduled to begin this spring.

Notre Dame Head of School Debra Orr said the school will broaden its existing International Baccalaureate program, which will teach students to become critical thinkers in a connected world.
