Atlanta Public Schools students now have a chance to learn video production skills and get APS athletics on TV.

This year students at Grady and North Atlanta high schools began working with Grady grad and video producer Will Tolbert on weekly “Game of the Week” broadcasts of APS football games. The students serve as announcers, play-by-play announcers and camera operators.

“It’s one thing to learn it in the class from your teacher, but you learn a lot more when you actually get to do it,” Tolbert said.

Tolbert says he hopes to expand the program to other sports and possibly a summer camp.

The show airs on APS Channel 22 and online.
