As Morehouse College prepares to celebrate its 150th anniversary, president John Wilson faces challenges on his mission to maintain its sterling reputation.

Potential problems include boosting the school’s enrollment when other universities and colleges are competing for the brightest and best students, increasing his college’s endowment and dealing with tough financial issues that have led to layoffs.

“I want to make the case for the next 150 years and ensure we can remain productive, and look like we’re ready for the future,” Wilson, 58, said.

Wilson, who has sterling credential of his own, is bringing in fresh leadership and ideas to Morehouse and its traditions.
