Morehouse College will hold a naming ceremony on Tuesday to dedicate the university’s music building to musician Ray Charles’ mother.

The Aretha Robinson Music Academic Building is part of the Ray Charles Performing Arts Center on the school’s campus. The naming is part of a $3 million gift to Morehouse from the Ray Charles Foundation. Charles received an honorary degree from Morehouse in 2001.

The naming ceremony begins at 10 a.m. in the atrium of the Ray Charles Performing Arts Center.
