Morehouse College and the Atlanta University Center Consortium of historically black colleges and universities will hold a memorial service for civil rights legend Julian Bond on Oct. 26.

Bond, a 1971 Morehouse graduate, died Aug. 15, after a short illness and complications from vascular disease.

The longtime leader of the NAACP was 75.

The citywide service will be held at 6 p.m. the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel on Morehouse’s college. The service is open to the public.
