The Georgia Department of Education will hold a series of training sessions for educators who want to teach character development in the classroom.

Middle and high school teachers can register for the state's Medal of Honor Character Development Program, which is based on the oral histories of Medal of Honor recipients. Educators will receive the full curriculum kit for free and participate in model lessons.

The idea is to highlight examples of courage, commitment, sacrifice, integrity, citizenship and patriotism so that children can use them to influence change in their communities.
