A new synthetic turf field will be installed at an Atlanta high school through a partnership with a youth lacrosse organization.

The Atlanta school board this month approved a plan to let Northside Youth Lacrosse, Inc. use a practice field at North Atlanta High School. In return, the organization will convert the natural turf field into a synthetic turf field.

The district agreed to an eight-year lease with the organization, which will make annual deposits of $31,250 into an escrow account to pay for the field’s future replacement, according to board documents.

The agreement gives the lacrosse organization the first right to use the field when the high school is not using it after school and on the weekends.
