DeKalb County voters will decide in May whether to renew a penny sales tax for education.

The money will be spent in five areas: security; new buildings, renovated buildings, or new and improved facilities such as sports fields; technology upgrades; buses and other capital goods such as grounds equipment, desks and kitchen equipment.

The specific list of improvements to be made with the possible renewed tax will not be ready until December.

Here is a list of the previous Special Purpose Local Option Sales Taxes and a general list of the things purchased in DeKalb County schools.
