Gwinnett hosting bus driver job fairs
Even though schools just let out for the summer, districts are busy getting ready for next school year.
Like just about every other school system, Gwinnett County Public Schools is looking for bus driver candidates to join the GCPS team.
And it doesn’t matter if you don’t have a commercial driver’s license. Gwinnett has training for that. It also offers competitive hourly wages, benefits and flexible work schedules.

Most school bus drivers work the student calendar year and have time off on student holidays and summer vacation.
Applicants must have a safe driving record and a high school diploma or GED.
Bus driver hiring fairs:
- 9 a.m. – noon, Tuesday, June 18 at Central Gwinnett High School, 564 Crogan Street in Lawrenceville
- 9 a.m. – noon, Thursday, June 20 at North Gwinnett High School, 20 Level Creek Road in Suwanee
- 9 a.m. – noon, Tuesday, June 25 at South Gwinnett High School, 2288 E. Main Street in Snellville
- 1–4 p.m., Thursday, June 27 at Paul Duke STEM High School, 5850 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Norcross
- 1–4 p.m., Tuesday, July 9 at Archer High School
- 2255 New Hope Road in Lawrenceville
- 1–4 p.m., Thursday, July 11 at Meadowcreek High School, 4455 Steve Reynolds Boulevard in Norcross
- 8 a.m.–Noon, Saturday, July 13 at J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center, 437 Old Peachtree Road, NW, in Suwanee

“GCPS bus drivers ‘drive’ student success so we’re committed to making sure we have the right individuals behind the wheel,” says Don Moore, GCPS executive director of Transportation. “They are the first and the last staff members to interact with more than 130,000 students each school day. Vital members of the teaching and learning team, our drivers ensure that students arrive safely, on time, and ready to learn every day.”
