Gwinnett County’s Crews Middle School is having a ceremony Thursday to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

The event is scheduled at the school from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the school, located at 1000 Old Snellville Highway in Lawrenceville.

RSVPs were previously requested for the event.

The school is named after Alton C. Crews, who was Gwinnett’s superintendent from 1977 to 1989. More than 20 schools opened during his administration, as well as Gwinnett Technical Institute, which is now Gwinnett Technical College.
