A Gwinnett County Public Schools assistant principal has been recognized as one of the best assistant principals in the state. Jennifer Johnson, formerly an assistant principal at North Gwinnet Middle School who is now an assistant principal at Grace Snell Middle School, was named the 2019 Georgia Assistant Principal of the Year by the Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals. Johnson was nominated and honored while working as an assistant principal at North Gwinnett Middle.

North Gwinnett Middle School Principal Wanda Law said Johnson’s can-do attitude and willingness to grow and learn new things serves her well.

“Jennifer Johnson is truly an instructional leader. She knows what it means to model and to be there for teachers,” said Law.

Each year, GASSP recognizes outstanding school leaders who have succeeded in providing high-quality learning opportunities for students and who have made exemplary contributions to the profession. The GASSP’s stated mission is to improve education by supporting secondary education administrative leaders.
