Gwinnett County public school officials have announced the appointments of three principals and its new human resources director.

School board members approved the appointments Thursday evening after its Teacher of the Year banquet, district officials said in a news release.

The educators are replacing principals who are retiring at the end of the year, taking their new positions effective Jan. 1, 2017.

Melissa Madsen, an assistant principal at Britt Elementary School, will be the next principal of that school, succeeding Doris Jones.

Lisa Rhodes, an assistant principal at Taylor Elementary School, will become principal of Pharr Elementary School, replacing Mary Thomas.

Patrick Elementary School principal Tyese Scott-Oates will transfer to McKendree Elementary to succeed Loretta Denmark. A replacement for Scott-Oates has not been determined yet.

Additionally, Linda Anderson will become the new assistant superintendent of Human Resources and Talent Management. She’s currently an assistant superintendent for School Improvement and Operations for Elementary Schools.

Anderson replaces Frances Davis, who retired in September.
