Georgia superintendent seeks advice from students

Georgia students have a chance to be heard as state Superintendent Richard Woods seeks youths in middle and high school to advise him.

Woods wants the 2016 Student Advisory Council to meet with him to discuss the effect of state policies on schools and to serve as ambassadors to their schools.

Middle school students will meet Sept. 12, Nov. 7, Feb. 13 and April 10. High school students will meet Sept. 13, Nov. 8, Feb. 14 and April 11.

Applications are due by 5 p.m., Aug. 16. Download the form here then fill it out and send to Ron Culver at rculver@doe.k12.ga.us. Those selected will be revealed Aug. 31 on the Georgia Department of Education's website, www.gadoe.org.
