The facility’s sustainable features include high-energy water fixtures, preservation of more than 77 percent of the project for open space and bicycle storage and changing areas for bicycle commuters.

Georgia State’s new law school, which is currently under construction, is also expected to be LEED certified.

The environmental certification was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, and includes several categories for facilities based on the number of points achieved for sustainable features.
